Systems Technologist

Vanrx seeks a Systems Technologist with experience in the development and production of mechanical systems to join our highly collaborative and talented team in Burnaby, BC.

This position will assemble, integrate, test and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components and assemblies in order to ensure that a quality product is built safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities:

The Systems Technologist is expected to have skills in the following areas: machine assembly, electrical assembly, metal parts fabrication, controls integration and system testing. The incumbent will work with the engineering team to design, prototype, fabricate, assemble and test electromechanical systems consistent with product requirements. Specific responsibilities for this position include:

• Work as a key member in the final assembly and test of systems.
• Select, test and integrate hardware and software components.
• Identify design and manufacturing problems and propose changes or improvements.
• Assess the “manufacturability” of systems in the design phase.
• Run in-house and customer acceptance or verification tests to ensure systems meet specifications.
• Commission and install project at customer sites if required.
• Train customer personnel on the operation and setup of machines if required.
• Troubleshooting equipment problems.
• Ensure that all activities are performed with highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Vanrx Employee Manual.
• Adheres to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Technology Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Robotics, Mechatronics or similar.
• Three to five years experience in a systems development and integration of automation projects, as well as a thorough understanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation is required.
• Track record of high performance leading to the timely delivery of automation projects.
